

Born on March 11, 1940, he was the son of the late (William) Dick and Hetty (Reaves) Jones.
Max served in the U.S. Army and worked at Weavexx until he retired. He was an avid fisherman and farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kate (Riddle) Jones; a daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Bob Wagler; granddaughters, McKenzie and Lorin Wagler; nephews: Wayne (Linda) McCamey, Stevie (Maureen) McCamey, and Lynn (Millie) Jones; sisters-in-law, Muncie Jones and Mary Anne Riddle; brothers-in-law: Lee Walker, Sonny (Joyce) Riddle, and Jay (Patsy) Riddle; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Ethel (Ralph) McCamey, Louise (R.K.) Morelock; a brother, Dickie Jones; sisters-in-law: Eva Johnson, Mary Walker, and Martha (Don) Burkey; brothers-in-law: Lester Riddle and Chester Riddle; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Willie and Zollie Riddle.
The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in River Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Buchanan will officiate.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Lynn Jones, Wayne McCamey, Stevie McCamey, Lloyd Knight, Luke Jones, Randy Riddle, Kevin Laws, Hunter Edmisten, William Ricker, Gary Cutshaw, and Eddie Tweed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice caregivers with special appreciation to Kathy Duncan and the chaplain who provided extra care for him.
