She was a retired librarian and was a member of New Providence Church in Maryville, Tennessee.
Survivors include a son: John David Allen of Greeneville; three daughters: Joy Sue Allen and Nancy Lee Allen, both of Maryville, and Ruth Allen of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren: Heidi Meadows Chitwood of Huntsville, Alabama, Amy Meadows of Maryville, David Thut of St. Petersburg, Florida, Cami Demery of Raleigh, North Carolina, Robbie Allen of Seattle, Washington; great grandchildren: Ben Chitwood and Grace Chitwood of Huntsville, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles H. Allen of Kingsport.
The body has been cremated.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:00 pm Friday, May 20, in Christ Chapel at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Dan Donaldson officiating.
