Richard G. Bausell

He was a native of Russell County, Virginia, and the eldest son of Henry and Katie Bausell.

He was retired from Philips Consumer Electronics as a computer operator and the postal service, where he was a rural mail carrier.

Richard was an avid golfer and musician and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, his family and pets.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Margaret Bausell.

Survivors include his daughter: Lisa Bausell of Jonesborough, Tennessee; his brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Jeanette Bausell of Ormond Beach, Florida; several beloved nieces and nephews; and a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Gary and Patsy Smith of Telford, whose love and devotion to him went beyond measure.

The family would also like to extend their heart-felt gratitude to his best friend, Ronnie Rollins, whose help and support over the past years has been priceless.

Special thanks are extended to the Caris Hospice Team, who provided loving care during his last days.

The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Pete Tackett officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
