
He was an entomologist.
Mr. Higgins was a member of Greeneville Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law: Lisa and Arthur LaPerriere of Killen, Alabama, Melody Hansbro of Alto, Texas, Amy Smith of Lancaster, Texas, and Cheryl and Tony Shrum of Red Bank, Tennessee; two sons and daughters-in-law: Wesley and Linda McDonald of Jasper, Indiana, and Fred and Nancy McDonald of Greeneville; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Ray and Mary P. Higgins and was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Higgins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Clarence Small officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family wished to express a special thanks to the staff of Morning Pointe of Greeneville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adventist Community Services Center.
