Sammy was the van driver for the Foster Grandparent Program for several years (mornings) because he worked full-time at the water plant. Sammy was one of the hardest workers that I've ever known. He always had two or three jobs going at the same time. He was so good to the grannies as he was to Brenda and l. We ALL loved Sammy, he was such a good friend to us. He was more like family than a co-worker. We all three left the program about the same time and we sure did miss seeing Sammy every morning. He was such a good hearted kind and caring man he will be missed for sure. 

I worked in the gas station sammy would always play his lottery tickets at of the mornings after he go to hardies he'll be very missed 


You will always be a member of our family and in our hearts.  I’m glad my dad has his best friend with him but selfishly we hate you’re no longer here with us. 

Sending lots of love to his wife and son and other family members. We are thinking of you all. 

My condolences to all the family & friends. Sammy was such a nice person. When he worked for the Town of Baileyton, some morning’s he would stop by Cuz’s and get me a biscuit. He wouldn’t tarry long and when he got ready to leave or would call before leaving in the afternoon to see if I needed anything, he’d  always say “I’ll see you in the morning time”.  RIP, my friend. 

Sammy lived in our neighborhood for several years while my sons, Bryan, Chris, and JD Bowers were growing up. They thought the world of Sammy, and they often went to his house where he always had Mt. Dew for them. One year a big black German Shepherd dog showed up under Sammys rose Bush. Someone must have let her out as they could never find an owner. Soon the dog had a bunch of puppies, for which Sammy found homes. Chris wanted that big dog (they named her Rosie) so bad, but we said no. Sammy called us and talked us in to letting Chris have her, so we said yes.   It turned out great for us. Sammy was so good. Bryan and Chris both ran into him a few weeks ago and got to talk to him. He will be missed and remembered.

I feel like I’ve lost a brother. Sammy and my husband were like brothers for a lot of years. They both joined the Tennessee Army National Guard about the same time in the early 70’s.  Ron Neas and Kyle Fann soon became part of the foursome who would be the best of friends.  Sammy was always smiling and laughing.  He was always so positive.  There’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll all see Sammy again when the four of them are reunited. May God bless his family and friends. 

Never met a kinder man. Sammy and dad were in the Guards together for many years.. I looked up to this man. He was a god father to me soo to speek.. 

Rest well Sammy. Till we meet again..




Happy Easter ! Happy spring ! Happy happy everything is what Sammy would always say. Sammy was a great friend to my whole family. He used to hang out at cove creek market for many years and he was just a joy to be around. He never said a bad word about anyone.  I am sorry to his son David and the rest of the family for your loss. How fitting that the good lord take Sammy home in the spring. Sammy had a great heart and cared about his friends. He will never be forgotten. I am sure he got to hear the lord say Happy Easter happy spring  happy happy everything. Sammy now enter into the joy of the lord.   You will be missed greatly by so many.

Mr. Sam came into my store about everyday and he would play his scratch tickets.  We would exchange good mornings and if he won I was so happy for him.   He is gonna be greatly missed.
