

Born March 17, 1943, to the late Daisy Lee Redmond Hensley and James William Hensley, he lived most of his life in Candler, North Carolina. He worked 42 years at BASF and retired to Greeneville, Tennessee, where he built a log home and enjoyed his life as a simple farmer.
He was a loving and faithful deacon at the First Baptist Church in Baileyton. He loved his church family.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 49 years: Brenda Cook Hensley; three daughters and sons-in-law: Donna and Rev. James Roberts of Greeneville, Sherry and Dwayne Martin of Weaverville, North Carolina, Jennifer and Mark Fisher of Marshall, North Carolina; seven wonderful grandchildren: Hope Roberts, Brooke Roberts, Brett Roberts, Paige Roberts, Troy Martin, Marcus Fisher,and Mason Fisher; two sisters: Norma Arrington of Candler, North Carolina and Ruthe Lynton of Los Angeles, California; two brothers: Lon Hensley and twin brother, Ronald Hensley, both of Candler, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. James Roberts and Rev. Tommy O’dell will officiate.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Fillers, Bill Carter, Dale Tucker, Eric Gustavsen, Robert Tucker, Kevin Pierce, Nathan Brown, Doug Carter, Bill Hensley, and Randy Pitts.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
