

He was a registered and licensed Gemologist. He was owner and operator of Fine Jewelry and Antiques in North Miami, FL. He moved to Greeneville in 1982. Mr. Dredge has been honored in the Boxing Hall of Fame in Washington DC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the 740th Tank Battalion in Germany. He was a member of the VFW in Washington, DC. He was owner of W & LD Miniature Horse Farm. He had a great love for all animals. He was a member and the former Regional Director of the American Miniature Horse Association; he had served on the Board of Directors of the Greeneville-Greene County Parks and Recreation Department, was co-owner of the NNFP (Nature’s Natural Fire Prevention)
Company. He was owner of Grand View Villas, and was founder and co-owner of Travel Connection International. Mr. Dredge was also a licensed pilot.
He was of the Catholic faith serving as an Alter Boy in his early boyhood years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Bernard Dredge; son and daughter-in-law, William Cary (Dredge) II Shultz and wife Nancy Shultz of Ramona, CA; a grandson, Cary Shultz of Poway, CA; one sister, Genevieve Huff of Crestview, FL; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Alvin Langley of Ormond Beach, FL, Eugene and Thelma Langley of Martinsville, W.V., and
Leonard Langley of Crestview, FL.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Jim Best officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Fisher, Mickey Ellis, Carson Bernard, Myron Bernard, Jack Bernard, Tommy Bernard and Frank Bernard.
The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Monday preceding the service at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the committal service Tuesday.
