It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Alba Maria Bertolo (nee Pavan) on October 9th, 2023, at the age of 80.
Alba was the devoted mother to Virginia (Ian Ford), David, Adriana (Joe Coady) and the late David Bruno. She adored and was extremely proud of her 4 grandsons Cameron, Nicolas, Braden and Jarret. She is predeceased by her husband, Ricardo, and is the sister of Laura Durante (late Peter) and Bruna Gemin (Guerrino).
Alba emigrated from the Piedmonte region of Italy when she was 13 and made her home in Guelph ever since. She loved to cook and make homemade pasta dishes for her family and friends. She was also very well known in the neighbourhood due to her daily walks, many of which turned into a conversation or a coffee break. Alba will be greatly missed by her many friends and extended family.
Special thanks to Riverside Glen Eramosa neighbourhood for the wonderful care she received over the last 10 months and to Hospice Wellington for their compassion and caring in the last few days of her life.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, where her family invites friends and relatives to join for a visitation on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM. A private family funeral service will be taking place.
In lieu of flowers or as an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice Wellington or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
