Antonio was predeceased by his beloved wife Elisa in February 2024. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, perseverance, and family. He was the cherished father of Albino (Elena), Josie (David Fast), and Lino, and the proud Nonno of Julian (Jen), Alexander (Erika), Sonia (Bobby), and Evan. His joy only deepened with the arrival of his great-granddaughters, Mara and Lucia, whom he adored. Antonio was a dear brother to Alberto (Maria) and Gina (Luigi – deceased), and he was predeceased by his siblings Domenico, Gemma, and Santa.
Born in Ortono dei Marsi, Abruzzo, Italy, Antonio courageously moved with his young family to Canada in 1968, building a new life in Guelph, where he resided ever since. He carried with him the traditions of his homeland—tending a flourishing garden that produced prized vegetables and crafting homemade wine, sausage, salami, and prosciutto. These were not simply hobbies, but expressions of care, heritage, and quiet pride.
Antonio was known as a reserved, kind, and even-tempered man—steadfast and hardworking. As a grandfather and great-grandfather, he gave his heart completely, finding some of his happiest moments in the presence of those generations he helped build. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the traditions he preserved, and the family who will forever miss his warm presence. May he rest in peace, reunited with Elisa, and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
