Born in Italy and immigrating to Canada in 1962, Benny built a beautiful life rooted in hard work, family, and community. On a visit home, he met the love of his life, Lina, who joined him in Canada in 1967. They settled in Guelph, where they raised their family and would have celebrated 57 wonderful years of marriage in January 2026.
Beloved husband to Lina, Benny was the proud father of Joe (Christine) and Germano, and a cherished Nonno to Daniel (Delaney), Melissa (Sean), Christopher, and Alexa. He was also a doting Bisnonno to Elliot, Jameson, Rudy, and Willa. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Alma, his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends. One of 6 children, he is pre-deceased by all his siblings Maria (Fiore), Antonio (Lea), Rosa (Domenico), Luigi, and Lina (Pierro)
A barber by trade, Benny served his community for 52 years with skill, humour, and an open ear—traits that made him not only a trusted barber but a confidant to many. He was a family man through and through, present at almost every hockey game his boys played and was endlessly devoted to his grandchildren.
Benny embraced life with joy and curiosity. A passionate sports fan, he fell in love with hockey—especially his beloved New York Rangers—and also enjoyed soccer, football, and boxing. He loved gardening, particularly tending to his vegetables, and enjoyed planning road trips to Florida. Driving, entertaining, and sharing stories filled his days, as did Tuesday coffees with “the boys”. A lover of music, especially Italian folk music, Benny delighted in playing the concertina.
Proud of his Italian roots and equally proud to be Canadian, Benny embodied the best of both cultures. His warmth, friendliness, and storytelling spirit touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly celebrated by those who were blessed to know him.
