With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bob Jones on June 24, 2023 at the Guelph General Hospital in his 85th year.
Loving father to Shelley (Roy) and Christine (Alex). Proud grandpa to Andrew (Sarah), Jennifer (Darryl) and Zach (Sophia) and great grandpa to Clara, Alexandra, Benjamin, Addison and Lucas. Predeceased by his wife Sheila Jones, his companion Wilma Johnston and his parents Violet and Fred Jones.
Bob was a trucker at heart, a loving husband, father, son and grandpa. He was positive in the face of all that life threw at him. Using humour to make even the most difficult of situations as bearable as possible. He was a joy to all that knew and loved him. He won everyone over with his kind and gentle soul.
The family would like to send special thanks to those who made his last few months as comfortable as possible, the Guelph General Hospital, nursing teams on the 4th and 5th floors, the caring team at the Elliott and the staff at The Royal on Gordon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guelph General Hospital or The Elliott would be greatly appreciated.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where cremation has taken place. The family invites friends and relatives for visitation on Monday, July 3, 2023 from 10:30am – 11:00am followed by a service beginning at 11:00am. All are welcome to join for a reception following the service in the chapel.
