She was born in Kitchener on May 17, 1942, the second child of Arthur and Evelyn Minister; a sister for David.
Carol will be missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Del, and her two children Margaret (Terry Willms) and James.
She felt blessed to be Nana to three grandchildren - Jordan Willms (Helen), Emily Crawford (Luke), and Kyle Willms (Stephanie). She was further blessed to be great-grand mother of 4 children who brought so much joy and energy to her later years: Nora and Jack Willms (Jordan and Helen) and Judah and Levi Crawford (Emily and Luke).
She is survived by Brothers-in-law Dennis Kritz (the late Pat Kritz), Gary Kritz (Jean) and Doug Barrow (the late Carol Barrow, nee Kritz)
Carol and Del came to Guelph in 1967. She raised her family, volunteered at the Guelph General Hospital, and worked for a short period of time as a Medical Secretary.
Carol was a loyal member of Chapter L of PEO for 38 years and will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and caring nature by her many friends.
We all admired her perseverance in dealing with physical ailments, and health challenges over many years.
In keeping with Carol's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service, and cremation has taken place. The family will honor Carol's memory at a celebration of life at an event in late spring.
We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the many home support workers through Ontario Health at Home for their daily visits over the years. And a special thanks to Bhu for her excellent care which allowed Carol to stay at home as long as she did. We are also so thankful for and wish to thank the staff and volunteers at Wellington Hospice for the compassionate care she received. They eased her pain and brought peace and comfort to both Carol and her family in her last days.
In memory of Carol donations to Wellington Hospice would be appreciated.
