Born in Winnipeg on April 17, 1932 to Lottie Bolton and John Dennison Elwood our much loved mother passed away peacefully in Guelph on Thursday morning, September 24 2026. She was married to her loving husband, Kenneth (Ken) for over 68 years. Ken passed away in 2020.
They lived for many years in Coquitlam, BC and then moved to Georgetown, ON where they curled and had many bridge games. When Ken retired in the early 90’s they moved, full-time to the Kawarthas where they spent many wonderful years with family and their bridge friends enjoying the picturesque canal and lakes. Bobbie had a beautiful singing voice and sang in choirs, joined in musical productions at their winter home in Zephyrhills, Florida where she also took part in tap dancing, painting and her life-long passion of poetry writing.
Lovingly remembered by her children Susan (Anne), Robert (Lydia), Julia (Dave), Valerie (Jube), Linda (Blair) as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and distant relatives and many dear friends.
Predeceased by her much-loved siblings Betty Anolik, Pat Canavor, Douglas Elwood & Michael Elwood.
Bobbie’s final care is entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel. A Celebration of Bobbie’s Life will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 2PM at Gilbert Chapel 1099 Gordon St Guelph.
