Dale Nancy Chapman (nee Dobberthein)

Dale was born in Guelph on August 6, 1953, and passed away at home on May 19, 2026, in her 72nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband and soulmate Ken Chapman, daughter of Lila and Lorne Dobberthein, sister of Allen and Greg Dobberthein (Janet), predeceased by brother Rick Dobberthein, devoted mother of Shelley Franchetto nee Pellin (Kyle Powell) and stepmother to Amanda and Jason Chapman, and nurturing grandmother to Alexandria Franchetto (Jacob Miller).

Dale found special joy when she was with family and friends, reading a good book, playing cards or travelling. She cherished the sanctuary of her backyard garden and enjoyed music and dancing.

She collected antique furniture and tea pots and loved all things sparkly and the colour blue. These character traits were made evident in her numerous fashion accessories like jewellery, purses and shoes. Dale was independent, determined and fun-loving. Her strength and outspokenness were complimented by her bright smile and infectious laughter.

Dale never fully recovered from the grief and sadness of the untimely passing of her husband, Ken Chapman. Although Dale will be greatly missed by our family and all that knew her, we find comfort knowing that she and Ken are now reunited and together again forever.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. A Visitation will be held on Friday June 5, 2026, from 5-8PM. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place in the funeral home on Saturday June 6, 2026, from 1-4PM, with words of remembrance at 2PM.
