Donald Ilio Marzo

Donald Marzo passed away on Tuesday June 17 peacefully at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Donald’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, and cherished daughters, Meriam and husband Edwin and Myrna and husband Alex. Don was a proud grandfather to Natasha (Craig), Edwin Jr., Natalie, Sophia, and Isiah, who all brought him great joy and pride.

Predeceased by his parents Ilio and Sandra Marzo of Acton. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Philip and Peter and wife Denise, his sisters, Theresa and husband Doug and Carol-Ann and her husband Rick. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Don grew up in Acton and as a young man he won numerous hockey and bowling trophies.

After Don married, him and his wife Mary moved to Guelph. In Guelph Don became a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Community.

Don will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family. His memory will forever remain a blessing.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff at Guelph General Hospital and the compassionate caregivers and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during Don’s final days. Your unwavering compassion brought comfort to both Don and our family, and we are forever grateful.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. A Visitation for Donald will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, from 2:00- 4:00PM and 6:00-9:00PM. A Funeral Mass will occur Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:30AM at St. John the Baptist Parish, 45 Victoria Rd N, Guelph. Burial at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 N, Guelph.
