Passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre with her devoted husband of 59 years, Antoni, at her bedside. Loving mother of Ted Rosenbaum (Tina Bortolon) of Guelph, Ontario and Edward Rosenbaum (Laura) of London, Ontario. Treasured Babcia to Joseph and Sarah. Cherished sister to Jasia Chmura (the late Walter Chmura) of Hamilton. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Ludwik and Jozefa (Rak) Kudla of Poland, brothers Jozef Kudla, Franciszek Kudla, Jan Kudla, and sisters Maria Kulik, Anna Slomba, and Helena Strzepka.
Emilia was born in Laczki Brzeskie, Poland on June 24, 1940. She bravely immigrated to Canada in 1961 to start a new life. Not long after, she met the love of her life, Antoni, and together they began an adventure that would last over 60 years. Extremely proud of her background, it was important for Emilia to pass along Polish culture to her sons through tradition, song and cooking.
Emilia spent most of her working career at Imperial Tobacco in Guelph where she forged many friendships which continued into retirement. With her easy-going nature and infectious smile, friends were not in short supply.
Many memories were created with Antoni as a result of Emilia’s love of travel. Whether the destination was a beach in the Caribbean or in the towns and forests of Poland, Emilia always came back with great stories to tell.
Emilia will be missed by all her friends and family.
Special, heartfelt thanks to all the lovely and caring staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on 3 North - Blue Spruce Trail who cared for Emilia. Your kindness and dedication will not soon be forgotten.
