Estelle Aurore McLaughlin

Estelle passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Friday June 12, 2026 at the age of 98.

Estelle was born in a small Northern Ontario Town of French Canadian ancestry.

At a very young age the family moved to Timmins, Ontario. In her late teens she moved to Hespeler to work at Dominion Woolens where she met the love of her life Thomas Laurence McLaughlin. They were married and later moved to Guelph.

Estelle was predeceased by her husband Thomas (a.k.a Laurie). She was the loving mother of Donald, Bishop George McLaughlin (deceased), Liliane and John. Loving grandmother of Bryan, Jason, Justin (deceased) and one great-granddaughter, Paige.

Estelle is survived by her cherished sister Liliane Martin (nee Pilon). Predeceased by her brothers Gaston, Roger and Aurele. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who have many wonderful memories of Aunt Estelle. Estelle will be missed by many friends that brought her so much joy and laughter.

Estelle had a beautiful smile that reflected her personality of being a kind, generous and loving person. She lived a life of faith, love and laughter. She will be greatly missed.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive their friends on Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. A reception will be held in the Church Hall.
