Survived by his devoted wife and soulmate, Marilyn, as well as his sons Colin (with wife Paula) and Ryan (with wife Lauri). His grandsons, Austin and Wyatt, held a special place in his heart. John’s brother, Brian, shared a lifelong bond with him.
John’s life was a tapestry woven with family, friends and business colleagues. Yet, it was with Marilyn that he found his deepest love, walking side by side through all of life’s joys and sorrows together.
As a young man, John reveled in travel, collecting thrilling stories from his adventures. His work ethic was legendary—marked by integrity, keen observation, and unwavering honesty. His career spanned Pharmaceutical Management and later, as a Lobbyist, he influenced significant policies. John’s leadership and mentorship paved the way for many remarkable careers.
Retirement brought renewed wanderlust for John and Marilyn. They explored the world, sharing laughter and experiences with old and new friends alike.
John’s compassion extended beyond business and family. In Markham, he championed causes close to his heart: Junior Achievement, Shriners, and the Markham/Stouffville Family Crisis Centre. His proudest achievement? Fifty years as a Canadian Red Cross Blood Donor.
The family invites you to celebrate John’s life—a testament to love, resilience, and kindness. We will have a Celebration of Life at Springfield Golf and Country Club 2-5pm Sunday June 2, 2024. (2054 Gordon Street, Guelph, N1L 1G6)
In lieu of flowers, Marilyn requests donations to the St Joseph's Health Centre in Guelph or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
May John’s memory be a beacon of light for all who knew him.
