John passed away suddenly while on his annual family vacation, which he looked forward to and loved to go on each year. He enjoyed several days filled with family, laughter, and treasured memories before he was taken away from us by a heart attack in the early morning of Thursday, July 30.
John was the loving husband of Graziella (nee Munafo) for fifty-two years. He loved his daughter, Sara Mammoliti, and her partner, Brad Jarvis, and adored his grandson, Brevin Houle, who was the apple of his eye. John was the loving father of Tony (Danielle) Mammoliti and always looked forward to their time together. He was the very dear brother of Maria (the late Jeff) Chalmers and Angie (Ray) Bin. They shared many wonderful times together, and he will be deeply and forever missed. He was the beloved brother-in-law of Rosa (Munafo), Franca (Alan) Meyers, and the late Salvatore (Nina) Munafo.
John was the beloved son of the late Antonio and Saveria Mammoliti and the beloved son-in-law of the late Giuseppe and Concetta Munafo.
He loved his nephews and their families with all his heart. He shared a special relationship with each of them, and they brought so much joy to his life. David (Kristen, Hazel, Bonnie) Bin; Andrew (Lauren) Bin; Michael (Christina, Domenic) Chalmers; Christopher Chalmers; Rob Meyers; Joe (Krista, Leo, Oakley) Meyers; James (Alex, Raina) Graham; Cettina (Giovanni, Alesia) Munafo; and Giuseppe (Mary, Carola, Giulio) Munafo.
John treasured his lifelong friendship with Claudio Modolo, whom he had known since they were teenagers, and his wife Gail. They were a special part of his life. He was also loved by his cousin Tota Vullo and by his cousins in Australia, Italy, and Rochester, New York.
John loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. Italian traditions were an important part of who he was, and he had a heart of gold. He was kind, generous, and always happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. Although he is no longer with us, John will continue to live on through the love he shared and the countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Gilbert McIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Wednesday, August 5 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church at 45 Victoria Road, Guelph on Thursday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 N, Guelph.
