John was born in Birmingham England in 1940 and moved to Canada in 1986. John was a loving father to Rachel (Ray) and a proud grandad to Joshua (Hannah). He was a dear brother to David (deceased) Glenda (Colin, deceased) and Andrew (Diane). Beloved Brother In Law to Gen, Bill (deceased) and Margaret. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Dean, Wayne, Andrea, Emma, Becky, Lewis, and Ben.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandchildren, Sean and Ty.
John was dedicated to his family and found joy in the people he loved. He lived life to the fullest and embraced it with enthusiasm. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
John’s stroke in February 2020 altered the course of his life completely, but throughout all of the struggles and challenges he faced his spirit and positive nature lifted not only him, but anyone and everyone he came into contact with. His family could not be prouder of how he faced the last six years, always smiling, and we will be forever grateful for the stories he told while snacking on a bag of his favourite crisps!
The family would like to thank every single person who has cared for John with such compassion while he lived on Lyndon Court at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, and there has to be a special thank you to Beula, whose care and compassion was beyond compare.
Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation in memory of John would be appreciated by the family.
