We are heart-broken to announce Kathleen Keleher, the cherished matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she spent a lifetime building. Born on July 10, 1930, Kathleen lived a long, beautiful life of 95 years, defined by her devotion, warmth, and unconditional love.
As the cornerstone of her family, Kathleen’s greatest joy was her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Predeceased by her husband, our father Timothy Keleher July 2012 her legacy lives on through her four children, Gail, Jim (Deb), Cindy (Andrew), predeceased by Colleen 2017, who will forever carry her love, spirit, and teachings in their hearts. Kathleen’s love spanned across generations, leaving behind 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.
Kathleen was the glue that held her family together, creating a home filled with laughter, guidance, and open arms. Mom never missed family celebrations to provide support, congratulations and celebrations. Her gentle strength, wisdom, and enduring kindness shaped the lives of everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a profound vacancy in her family, but her memory will be celebrated through the close-knit bonds of the many descendants she loved so deeply.
Mom and dad loved their cottage in Belwood and enjoyed entertaining family and friends for 25 years. We were very fortunate to be able to have mom spend her last days with us at the Wells family cottage on Belwood Lake where she passed peacefully. Her family was most important; she also loved the odd trip to the casino and scratch tickets.
She is the daughter of Roland and Jennie Hare one of seven children, born in Brockport N.Y. and came to Canada at the age of 3. She is survived by sister Verna Tolton and brother Bill and sister-in-laws Joan and Lynda, predeceased by siblings Frank (Elizabeth), Elaine (Ed), Roland Jr. (Dorothy), Bruce, brother in-law Vern.
Thank you to those who provided loving support over the last year of mom's life, our family and friends, Dr. William Ruddock, Dr. Lee, Community at home Support Services, Lyndsey (nurse), Rani (physio), Wellington County EMS workers and OPP, Mary Mount Cemetery and Gilbert McIntyre Funeral Home. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Wellington hospice.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration to honor Kathleen's beautiful life and legacy will be held by her family on what would have been her ninety sixth birthday Friday, July 10, 2026 at 7 Wolseley Rd Guelph at 1:30pm.
She will forever be in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Our amazing mom was beautiful inside and out, she accepted everyone for who they are and judged no one. We will miss her but think of her always xoxo.
