Predeceased by her parents David and Mable (Lamb) McDougall, her brothers Fred Lamb (1998), Glenn (2002), and George (2025). Lois is reunited with her husband Harley (2024).
Lois leaves behind her children Jamie (Laura Radey), Mike, Adrianne, and Tamara (Joe Kresovic), along with her sisters-in-law Bev Lamb, and Helen (Scallion) McDougall, her grandsons Nick and Greg Knighton, nieces Bev Igo, Barb Alves, Jennifer, Alicia and nephew George.
Originally from Mimico, Lois came to Guelph to attend the Guelph General Hospital nurses training program and graduated in 1958. While in training she met her future husband and went on to become an emergency room nurse in Guelph. Lois furthered her education while raising her family, graduated from the University of Guelph with Honours and went on to become an instructor of the nursing program at Conestoga College.
Lois loved adventure and travelling to Europe and tropical destinations. She grew roses, spent years on needle point, played a mean game of bridge, and took up watercolour painting in later years.
A huge and special thank you to the care team at St. Joseph's Long-Term Health Centre Guelph, and especially to Lois's extended family on the 3rd floor for over 12 years. It's difficult to put into words just how appreciated your care has been. It's been a long journey. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on September 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 762 Woolwich St, Guelph, later that day.
