
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Penelope (aka Penny) Patton, on September 4, 2026, at the St. Joseph's Health Center in Guelph. She was surrounded by caring staff and loved ones.
Penny was born on August 10, 1947, in Toronto, to Lois Margerie Campbell and William Scobie Houstoun. Penny was a retired educator of elementary, secondary, and college students, and a practicing artist whose last show was held at the Kloepfer Gallery in Guelph in June of 2025. She was an avid reader and loved to write, sketch, paint and sing. She enjoyed writing her own music as well as decorating her own home. She was a lifelong learner. A person with so many gifts who selflessly shared her talents with others.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Wayne Whildon Lorne Patton, on January 24, 2024. She is survived by her sisters Wendy Torode and Beverley Bosselmann, her brother Donald Houstoun, and sister Nancy Hewson. She was a loved/liked aunt to her many nieces and nephews; Christopher Mullen, Scott Mullen, Melissa, Eric and Danielle Houstoun, Kyla Fenney and Kirk Bosselman (d. 2004), Tiffany, Beth, Jennifer and James Hewson. She was a much loved great aunt by Isaac StirlingMullen
Lois Penelope Patton will be mourned, and her loss will be felt by all those who loved her, and by those who only knew her briefly and enjoyed her company.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Friday September 25, 2026, at 2:00PM.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers or trees in memory of Lois Penelope Patton, and donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
