At peace at last my dear Adelle went home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on October 28, 2026. In her 85th year she is survived by her husband Fred, married 60 years; her daughter, Sharon Norton Robertson (Dr. James Robertson) and her son Kevin Norton (Shelley Gamble Norton), and grandchildren, Jacob, William, Matthew, Olan and Ella.
Born in Welland, Ontario, and lived in Port Robinson, Ontario. Daughter of Clifford and Marjorie Biggar.
Survived by sister Linda Martin, sister Ann Eller (deceased) and brother Allan Biggar (deceased), including many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St Catharines. Adelle’s career as a Nurse included working in Niagara Falls, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta and Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston.
Adelle had many hobbies including painting, weaving, sewing, gardening, wood carving, and many years of square dancing.
Adelle and her husband Fred were a part of the first out of the cold program at Knox for the homeless and supporters for many years.
She also volunteered on many Funeral Teas. Her favourite bible verse was Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose”.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St Catharines.
Many thanks to the Elliott Long Term Care facility staff and Home Instead, Guelph for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, donations in Adelle‘s memory to St Catharines Alzheimer’s Society or Knox Presbyterian Church, would be appreciated.
