Marilyn Anne Kreutzwiser (nee Imber) born January 22nd, 1949, passed away in Guelph on October 1, 2026. The loving wife of Reid for 56 years. The loving and always supportive mom of Ryan (Danielle) and Paul (Jamie). Proud and loving grandmother of Evan, Kara and Katy. Born and raised in Brampton, the youngest daughter of Ernest and Nora Imber, and survived by her sisters Arlene Haynes, Brenda Brocklebank and younger brother John Imber {Marlene}.
Marilyn trained as a nurse in Kitchener where she met Reid who was studying at Waterloo. They were married and several years later moved to London where Marilyn continued nursing at University Hospital and supporting Reid’s studies. During that time Ryan was born and soon after they moved to Guelph and Paul was born. Marilyn and Reid stayed in Guelph for the remainder of their professional lives. Marilyn loved being a nurse and caring for her patients. She worked at both St. Joesph’s and later Guelph General Hospital.
Marilyn enjoyed travelling near and far and spending time outside tending to her gardens. She especially enjoyed time with her grandkids and visiting Ryan and Danielle at their resort. She would never miss a chance to make treats for her grandkids. When apart, she was devoted to staying connected, never missing a week without Facetiming or calling to hear about their lives. Her warmth and dedication to her loved ones will be deeply missed.
Marilyn fiercely and bravely fought recurring brain tumours for the last 22 years. She returned to work after the initial surgery and long recovery, so that she could continue to do the work she loved and to retire on her terms. A gentle fighter to the end who always worried about others and put others first even when she had been through so much. Marilyn and Reid were fortunate to continue their travel adventures in Europe and time in Florida even late in her life with her reduced mobility and other health issues.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, ON.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wiarton Hospital [Brightshores Health System – Bruce Penisula Hospitals Foundation].
She is immensely missed but will never be forgotten by her loved ones. She is always in our hearts!
