Beloved wife to the late Robert L. Rice. Proud and devoted mother to Robert Rice (Mary), Deborah Rice, Michele MacPherson (Allan), Michael Rice (Angela), Catherine Chambers (William) and the late Bruce Rice. Cherished Grammy to Rebecca, Kristy, Jason, Paul, Aprile, Gregory, Michael M., Cathleen, Tara, Michael R., Peter, Jessica, Cassandra, Carter, Mason and Jackson. Also cherished Grammy to many Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandchild. Dear sister to the late Audrey, the late Dalus, the late Bruce, the late Beverly, Frank, the late Lawrence, the late Shirley, the late Roy and Judy. Will be missed by all friends and extended family.
Our mother was devoted, loving and strong. She was a very independent beautiful woman, who will truly be missed.
Her career was with Guelph General Hospital as a switchboard operator for over 25 years and had also previously worked at Scarborough General. She loved reading, gardening, walking with her son and spending time with family.
Our family would like to thank GGH staff on the 7th floor and Hospice for the gentle and compassionate care given to our mother and family.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert Macintyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, ON. Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday August 28, 2026, from 12:00-1:00PM, with a Celebration of Life Ceremony immediately taking place at 1:00PM. Reception to follow.
