Nadia was a beacon of kindness, a source of strength, and a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. Nadia Berruti (Piacampo) was the devoted wife of Alex Berruti, proud, loving mother of Mason, Matthew and Ava. A cherished daughter of Angelo and Lunetta Piacampo and a devoted big sister to Sonia Piacampo; daughter-in-law to Bianca (and the late Dino) Berruti and sister-in-law to Steve and Allison Berruti and Diane and Jason Hagarty; dedicated Zia to Benjamin, Brianna and Cole Berruti and Noah and Adele Hagarty. She was loved by many, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, both near and far. Nadia was a constant presence of love, laughter and grace to all that knew her.
A woman of many talents and a heart for service, Nadia spent her life caring for others.
She started her career as a dental assistant, making those in her care feel at ease, something that came so naturally to her. After meeting Alex and getting married, they started their family, quickly becoming an unbreakable unit of 5. Nadia’s ability to laugh through the chaos, be the voice of reason in family discussions and be the ultimate mom will never be forgotten. She always put her kids above herself, in all that she did.
She continued caring for others, firstly as a PSW and then deciding to go back to school during the pandemic to become a Registered Practical Nurse. She continued to serve her community through palliative care nursing, working at the COVID assessment clinic and working with under-serviced populations. Nadia always saw the potential in others, and she enjoyed her volunteer work at Grace Gardens, Royal City Mission Church, and being a Big Sister as a young adult. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her gentle smile brought comfort to countless lives over the years. Her ability to laugh in the face of hardship, to find joy in the little things, and to always put others first will remain an enduring inspiration.
Through every chapter of her life, Nadia taught us lessons in love, resilience, and what it truly means to live fully. She lived with courage, dignity, and unshakeable warmth. Her faith in God never faltered, no matter how tough the fight became—a true example of grace under pressure.
Family was her world, whether she was hosting family gatherings, cheering on Mason, Matthew and Ava, or simply spending time surrounded by those she loved. Nadia made every moment feel special: from making goodie bags for the neighbourhood kids, helping organize her kids school events, participating in Church bible groups, and sharing dinner with friends and family. If you were lucky to have her as a friend, you had her in your corner for life.
A special thank you to Dr. Deb Robinson, Dr. Cary Shafir and Dr. Andrea Molckovsky, the nurses in Ambulatory Care at the Guelph General Hospital and all the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for their endless compassion.
Visitation will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral home (1099 Gordon St. Guelph, ON N1G 4X9) on Thursday July 17th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 18th at 10AM at the funeral home. A reception will follow at Parkview Church on Speevale Ave E.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Guelph Food Bank, Royal City Mission Church, and Stepping Stone, for their tireless work in helping the marginalized community.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and light will live on in our hearts forever.
