He was the beloved husband of Kathy, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life for 50 wonderful years. Together they built a life grounded in faith, family, laughter, and adventure.
Peter was a devoted father to Nathan (Bianka), Nicholas, Tim (Erika), and Tessa (Andrew), and a proud and dedicated Pito to Grace, Joseph, Blair, Max, and Ben. He loved to attend their games and events, cheering on his grandchildren with unwavering love and pride. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Susan (Dave), Patti (Rick), Paul (Denise), and Michael (Lois), and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends both here and abroad. He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Josie.
A true Catholic leader with a generous heart, Peter touched countless lives throughout his 34-year career as an educator and principal with the Wellington Catholic District School Board. His commitment to service extended far beyond the classroom. Through his work in Guatemala, he founded the charity One by One, changing lives and building lasting connections.
Peter loved traveling the world with Kathy, enjoyed many happy hours on the golf course, and was known for his wonderful and endearing sense of humour. His kindness, warmth, and steadfast faith left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the nurses and staff of 5 East at Guelph General Hospital for being so incredibly compassionate and giving, especially Carlene and Val.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 4 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph. A funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, March 5 at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
