

Ron is survived by his five children, David (Freshteh), Robert, Douglas, Ross (Tina), and Kristy (Steve). Proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ron was born in Brandon Manitoba in 1932 and moved to Winnipeg as a boy, then to Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) Ontario at age 13. He attended Port Arthur Collegiate Institute then went to the University of Toronto for engineering and the University of Western Ontario for an MBA. He settled in Barrie Ontario and joined Canadian General Electric where he spent most of his career in manufacturing management. Ron married Sheila in 1959. They moved to Shanty Bay in 1970 where they raised their five children. In 1985 they moved to the Brockville Ontario area where Ron served as Vice President of Engineering at Black and Decker, then a few years later they relocated to Cambridge Ontario where Ron took up the post of President of Ledco Inc. He retired in 1998 but remained active as a business consultant and as an advocate for trades education for youth.
In retirement Ron enjoyed traveling, hunting, and entertaining grandchildren. He moved to Guelph in 2017 where he remained active until his final days.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, where cremation has taken place. The family invites friends and relatives for a Funeral Service on January 10, 2024 at 1:00pm followed by a reception in the Hart Fellowship Lounge.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
