Rosemarie, born in Petawawa, Ontario, on March 5, 1957, is predeceased by her parents, John and Sheila Harris, as well as her oldest brother, Dean Robert Massey.
Rosemarie will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Theresa Armstrong (Mike), Pat Massey (Sheila), Bill Massey (Marcela), Christa Massey, and Eddy Harris (Kristina), along with her all of her extended family and friends.
Rosemarie was a one-of-a-kind woman whose personality could fill a room. She was funny, creative, stubborn, mischievous and incredibly generous. She lived her life in her own way and had a huge loving heart and nature. Those who knew her will remember her unique spirit, sense of humour, and the many special memories she created.
She was a talented musician, loved arts and crafts, time spent on her iPad watching scary movies and her beloved baby doll Amy who brought her so much joy and happiness. And we cannot forget her love of coffee and sushi which she could never get enough of. She loved playing bingo, going on outings, and sharing everyday moments with the people she loved.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to a few special people in Rosemarie’s life that she grew to love like family.
Carrie Kyle, whose patience, companionship and care brought so much happiness to Rosemarie’s life. Carrie became a constant and cherished presence, sharing countless hours with Rosemarie. Whether it was at bingo, trips to Pioneer Village or the Zoo or her favorite outing, shopping. Rosemarie adored Carrie and the bond they shared was truly special. Carrie’s dedication and compassion made Rosemarie’s days brighter and will never be forgotten.
Deborah Dillon, and the team at Jackson Therapy. Your weekly visits with Rosemarie were something she looked forward to so much. She was always excited to see what you would have in your goody bag for the activities of the day. She so enjoyed all the various crafts, games and the learning opportunities she had with you. She couldn’t wait to call me after your visits to tell me all the wonderful things you did together that day. Thank you for everything you did for her and for the love, kindness and understanding you showed her. You were an incredible blessing and light in her life.
The staff at Agecare Trilogy where Rosemarie has resided for the last 10 years. There are way too many names to list here, as she had very close bonds with many of the staff. Even adopting them as her “mom’s and dad’s” in some cases. Thank you to everyone that treated her with such love.
And finally, to the ICU team at Scarborough General Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion and dignity they provided both to Rosemarie and her sister during the many days in your care.
Rosemarie will be remembered for her humour, creativity, stubborn streak, mischievous spirit, and above all, her generous heart. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished by everyone who knew and loved her. Life will not be the same without her, and she will be so deeply missed.
Rest peacefully, Rosemarie. You were loved, you mattered, and you will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Rosemarie’s name to the resident council at: Trilogy Resident Council. These donations go directly to the residents and would be used for outings, entertainment and social gatherings. Something Rosemarie herself loved so much.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 2pm-4pm at Agecare Trilogy, 340 McCowan Road, Scarborough in the Four Seasons room, allowing all those who knew and loved Rosemarie the opportunity to attend.
