Born on November 3, 1948, in Guelph, Ontario, Terry was the son of Marie Ruth (Krusky) Kerr of Guelph and John Joseph Kerr of Belfast, Ireland.
Terry was a devoted husband to Ruth (Small) for 50 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Scott (Rebecca) and a proud grandfather to Georgia and Hayden, who brought him immense joy.
He was the dear brother of John (Judy) Kerr and Lori (Doug) Craine, and was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Rosyln (Kerr), in 1989.
Born, raised, and lifelong resident of Guelph, Terry graduated from Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute before embarking on a career in the technology industry that spanned more than 40 years. His work earned international recognition, reflecting both his dedication and expertise.
In retirement, Terry found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He could often be found exploring the back roads, changing the oil on one of his vehicles, carefully polishing his latest project, adding to his collections, or, most importantly, spending time with family.
An eternal optimist, Terry always found the silver lining in every situation. His family was at the centre of his life, and his unwavering love, generosity, and quiet strength defined the man he was. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Terry’s life at Gilbert Macintyre and Sons Hart Chapel on August 14th, 2026. A visitation will be held at 10:00AM followed by a celebration of life at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
