Adele Marie Turner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adele (Bachynski) Turner, 93, on July 27, 2026 currently residing at Maplestone Enhanced Care in Halifax. Adele was born on 17 April 1933 in Little Brook on the French Shore of Nova Scotia. Adele was the daughter of the late Ulysse and Monique Thimot.

Adele is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edward, (Ed, Ted) and her children, Victor, (Carmen), John, (Sue), Kathy, (Bill Van der Kooi), Rick, (Charlene), Bob, (Jane), and her siblings, Eddie, Delbe, Agnes, Lea and Caroline. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Billy, Mark, Stephen, Robyn and Travis. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Lina and brothers, Maurice and Raymond.

As a young woman, Adele worked at Sears and later in the hospitality industry for many years.

She and her devoted husband, Ed went on to create Turner Tours, which took many Nova Scotian’s on bus tours to New England, P.E.I., Upper Canada, Branson, Nashville and New York. Ed and Adele did the planning and booking for these well received adventures and enjoyed the trips as much as their guests.

They also spent several winters in Florida and one of Ed and Adele’s most memorable trips was to Rome.

Adele loved being with her family, especially the annual Boxing Day gathering, card games and celebrating birthdays and all occasions. She was always sure to take photos of her family enjoying their time together.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Maplestone for making Adele comfortable and their kindness to the family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 1, 2026 at 10am in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. There will be a reception to follow.
