

LeBlanc, Alfred Joseph, 78 of Fairview passed away suddenly at the QE II Health Sciences Center on March 26, 2010. Born in Haute Aboujagne, NB he was the son of the late Alphee Joseph LeBlanc and Arthemise Marie Boudreau. Alfred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was one of the founding members of St. Pius X Church, he worked for over 25 years for Croft Metal Products, Sears Inc., and Alsco Windows and Doors. He took pride in his installation of windows and doors. He was involved in Fairview Minor Hockey in his younger days. He very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and camping at Ocean Surf Trailer Park in Shediac, NB. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years Helen (Covey); daughters Rosemary (Mark), Halifax, and Karen, Halifax; sons Alfred Jr. “Fred”(Kristen), and John (Christina) both of Plymouth, NH; sisters Laura LaBonte, Ontario, Alfreda Martin, Dartmouth, Frances Jennings, Dartmouth; sister-in-law Fanny LeBlanc, Halifax; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two step grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Jane Marie (1981);brothers Arthur, Aurele (Blondie), and Aquilla (Joe) and sisters Mary Stokes, Ovenila Power, and Bernice Field. Visitation will be held Saturday March 27 from 6-8pm and Sunday March 28 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in J.A. Snow funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am Monday March 29 in St. Benedicts Parish St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. Internment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Benedicts Building Fund for the Bell Tower, the QE II Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
