It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Maxine (Rogers) Bezanson, age 87, on November 5, 2025, at Parkland on the Commons. Anne passed peacefully and was surrounded by the loves of her life. Anne was born May 6,1938 in Lakeville, Kings County to Dexter and Jennie (Harris) Rogers. She lived her early years in the beautiful Annapolis Valley where she eventually met and married her true soulmate, Eric. They were married in 1959 and had three wonderful sons. In 1970 they moved to Dartmouth where their next adventure began.
Anne worked tirelessly raising the three boys as Eric grew the family business. This often required Anne to carry the load at home. She was a hard worker who managed the books for the company and even made team deliveries in the early days. As years went on and the business was thriving, Anne and Eric enjoyed some well-earned vacation and eventually spent winters in Largo Florida. The peace and quiet they dreamed of was short lived as their home was often filled with grandchildren running in and out looking for Nanny and Papa B. The daily menu often consisted of golfing, swimming and the occasional visit to Applebee's or the Olive Garden.
In later years, they enjoyed numerous cruises with friends and family and visited many countries. Anne always looked forward to planning the next cruise.
Anne loved her boys and grandchildren fiercely. She couldn't wait to host the next Bezanson get together. Although the Annual Bezanson rib feast was a highlight for Anne (where the boys competed to see who could eat the most barbequed ribs), Christmas was always her favourite time of year. She took such enjoyment watching all six grandkids decorating the largest tree you could imagine. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy with each one holding a special place in her heart.
Anne is survived by her devoted husband Eric of 66 years, children Kevin (Karen Wells), Greg (Betsy Nash), and Peter (Kim Stephen), and her grandchildren, Jordan, Gabrielle, Samantha, Ryan, Ella and Evan, and her sister Nancy (Lorris) Keizer, brother Mike (Darlene) Rogers, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Cora (Ike) Gillis and oldest brother Paul (Sylvia) Rogers.
Anne will be fondly remembered as a mischievous gal with a contagious smile, a quick wit, her flower gardens, groovy white sunglasses, lumberjack cookies, her love of elephants, singing in the church choir and her boisterous laugh. Although she left the Valley as a young gal, she was always a “Valleygirl”.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her funeral service will be held on November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory can be made to the VON, The Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or charity of choice.
