

Arnold Wesley Hadley, age 85 of Halifax, passed away on September 26, 2013 at V G Hospital Palliative Care. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Wallace Hadley and Mona Beach. Arnold worked at DND in his earlier years out of Dartmouth and the dockyard in Halifax. He spent the best part of his working career of 42 years as a salesman and manager of several car dealerships in Halifax/Dartmouth. He was a devoted father and his spare time was spent building his cottage in Lewis Lake where for 40 years his children and grandchildren enjoyed swimming, boating and campfires.
Survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marion (Laidlaw); daughter, Sharon (Greg) Walsh, Bedford; son, Ted (Jeanie) Hadley, Lower Sackville; sisters, Marie (Charles) Otto, Joanie (George) Awalt; step-sister Patsy Marcotte; brother, Tim (Jean) Beach; step-brother Norman Hadley; grandchildren, Gillian (Jude) d’Entremont, Tara (Jeff) Ryan, Lori (Alex) McNeil, Erin (Andrew) Piercey, Chris (Stephanie) Walsh; great grandchildren, Kailyn, Brayden, Noah, Logan, Molly. Predeceased by brothers Charles Hadley, William Beach, Bernard Beach and sister Dorothy Legere. Funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road, at 11:00 am, Tuesday October 1, the Reverend Duncan MacMaster officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VON or the Canadian Cancer Society. His family sends to God a very special angel.
