A native of Halifax, Barbara was a daughter of the late William J. Parkhill and Edith Parkhill (Caldwell).
Barb was educated at the Halifax Ladies College and Dalhousie University. For many years she was employed by Travelers Canada.
During her lifetime, she was actively engaged as a volunteer in many organizations including the E. Florence Blanchard Chapter IODE, of which she was a charter member, and the Halifax Ladies College Alumnae.
She was a former member of the Waegwoltic Club and at Dalhousie University Club.
Special thanks to Carolyn Power and Cheryl Horne for their love and support which enabled Barb to continue to live in her own home for so long.
Funeral services will be held in J. A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 10:00 am, Father Gordon MacLean officiating, to be followed by a reception for Barb’s friends.
Burial will be in the family plot in Berwick Cemetery.
