Benedetto LoPresti

He came to Canada in 1955.

As a concrete finisher, Benedetto helped build many homes and buildings in Halifax during his career. Well known as a hard worker by his peers in the Italian community, he practiced his trade with great pride and attention to detail. Countless hours were spent working late to finish jobs once they were started.

All his hard work was for his family. He provided everything they needed for their heath, happiness and education. His love was deeply reciprocated by his family.

He is survived by his sons Marco (Mirella), Nick (Marie) and Umberto (Margaret); and grandsons Alessandro and Ben.

Benedetto is predeceased by his parents, Marco and Maria Grazia (Blandino); wife, Antonia (Sciortino); brothers Ignazio, Giuseppe, Salvatore, Giovanni and sister Violante.

Visitation will take place at St. Benedict church, 45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax, on Thursday, March 23, 6-8 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Benedict on Friday, March 24, 10:30 am. Reception to follow. Burial will take place after the reception at Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Benedetto’s name may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or charity of choice. Many special thanks to Gail Jollimore, Dr. Trixie Gregoire, and Red Cross home caregivers.
