

Born on January 21st, 1929, to the late Lorne and Margaret (Hanrahan) Dempsey of Herring Cove, NS. He graduated from St. Pat’s High School and attended Saint Mary’s University. He enjoyed a long career at Maritime Telephone and Telegraph.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Annette (Pottier), his children, Kevin (Judy), Michele (Alan), Denise ( Scott), John Paul (Wanda), Odette (Pierre), his grandchildren, Patrick, Laurenn, Devin, Justine, Selena, Paul, Alyson, Leslie, Janel, Ross, Grace, J.P., and Henry, his great grandchildren Augustus, Harley, Molly and Willow, his sisters Margaret Ann Elliott, Janet (Wallace) Scallion and brothers Gerald and Daniel.
He was predeceased by his son Brendan Joseph (Bernadette) and by his twin brother, Kevin, his siblings, Frank, Lorna Anderson, Brian, Denis and Mary.
Brendan was a caring, compassionate, considerate, cordial, doting, forgiving, friendly, humane and kind man, who was deeply loved as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, son and friend.
Our family will be forever grateful to the staff, nurses and doctors on the 8th floor of the QEII HSC for the compassionate care they provided to our father over his five month stay.
The family will be receiving visitors on Monday, September 2nd, at J. A. Snow Funeral Home on 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 10:30 AM, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, In Herring Cove.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
