

Brian John Pople, age 64 of Shad Bay, passed away peacefully January 22, 2019 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Kingston, ON June 1, 1954 and raised in Timberlea, NS, he was the son of William and Dorothy Pople (Melling).
Brian had a lengthy career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation during his working years. All who knew Brian will remember him for his sense of humour and jokes, his knack for cooking and his skill with a pool cue. Brian enjoyed travelling with this wife, Lois, to whom he was married to for 44 years and whom he loved dearly. Brian took pleasure in boating and being outdoors, especially throwing a ball for his dogs. Brian was a Red Seal carpenter and could often be found working on projects around the house or helping family or friends with theirs.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Lois; son, James (Tanya); daughter, Stacy (Keith Croucher); granddaughter Sophia Pople and grandson Austin Croucher, both of whom he was immensely proud. He is also survived by his sister, Cindy Tansley (Wayne), as well as his mother-in-law, Rosalie Ryan; brother-in-law, Jack Gallivan; sister-in-law, Joanne Scott (Mark); sister-in-law, Sandi Slaunwhite (Tim), and many nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Pople; father-in-law, Harold “Dick” Ryan; and his sister-in-law, Anna Gallivan.
A memorial service and reception will be held Monday, January 28th, 11am at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the QEII for their compassionate care of Brian over the years and for allowing them 8 additional years with him. During these years Brian met his beloved grandchildren and enjoyed many travels with his loving wife, Lois.
