Brian was born in Halifax on September 19th,1976. He was the adored son of Tom and Julie Willdey. He was a baby brother to his sisters Kart (David) and Kat (Johnny). He was an important and much loved uncle to Wills (Char), Ells (Slim), Boo (Mack), Jack and Soph. He was a great uncle to 5 grand-nieces and nephews. He joins dear little Austin, sweet Jess and his mom and dad in heaven. Bawns - we hope you know how special you were to us. .
His very good friends - they refer to him as a brother - feel this loss deeply. They remember him as the smartest guy in the room, the guy who didn’t care what anyone thought, the guy who tackled life like a game of chess, planning every move, the guy who left a lasting impression on everyone he met, the guy who lived a lot in a short time and the guy who took friendship very, very seriously. They loved him. He has left a huge hole in their hearts.
His adventurous spirit (and a very special partner - Beebs) took him to Dawson City, Yukon where he spent over a decade of his life. He enjoyed snowmobiling, playing hockey, curling, camping and spending time with friends. He was a very skilled paddler. His happy place was canoeing down the Klondike River and he would hop into his canoe any chance he got.
Brian was an avid reader and book collector with a special interest in Nova Scotia and Northern Canadian history. He dreamed of writing himself and also owning a used bookstore. He loved the water - all water. He loved swimming, paddling and relaxing by and in the water. He enjoyed making trips to PEI to spend time with his family; celebrating holidays, playing board games and sharing good food.
Many, many thanks to one of Brian’s long-time friends, Kenny Mitchell and his lovely wife Alida for offering to host a celebration of his life at their home this coming Saturday, July 13th from 2 until 6. Their address is 35 St. George Blvd in Hammonds Plains. Please reach out to Kenny at 902-209-7945 if you have any questions.
