
JOUDREY, Bruce Sterling – 90, of Mahone Bay and Halifax passed away peacefully on July 24 at his apartment in Bradford Hall, Parkland Clayton Park. Born in Mahone Bay, he was the son of Aubrey S. and Bertha (Swinemar) Joudrey. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Bright, Halifax; sons, Paul, Dartmouth and Michael, Halifax; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Jean (LeVatte) and his son David. Bruce served in the Navy during the Second World War and had a long and distinguished career with the Department of National Revenue – Excise Branch. He spent 30 years of retirement in Mahone Bay in the house where he was born in before taking an apartment at Parkland Clayton Park. We would like to express our gratitude to his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Joudrey, and the staff at Parkland for the special care they provided in his time of need. He was loved and cherished by his family and many friends and will be sorely missed. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531. There will be a private family funeral service. A reception for friends and family will be held in the Garden Pavillon at Parkland Clayton Park, Fairfax Dr., Halifax on Wednesday, July 27th from 2-4 p.m. No flowers by request.
