Carmel Mary Best

Carmel was born in Corner Brook, NL October 11, 1953 to William and Molly Fitzpatrick. She moved to Halifax in the early 1970's and worked in the health records department for many years retiring from the IWK Health Centre in 2013.

Besides her parents, Carmel was predeceased by 2 sisters, Patricia and Ruth. She is survived by her husband Jim and son Christopher, siblings Rosemary Simmons, Peg Fillatre (Keith), Francine Wight, Christine Jennings (John), Maureen Watt (Chris), Mario Fitzpatrick (Janet), Sheila Pringle (Bill), William Fitzpatrick (Jane), Paula Peachey, Neil Fitzpatrick (Carol), Andrea Bishop (Darren), and Sean Fitzpatrick (Sheila) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at J.A. Snow's funeral home at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
