He attended Ashby Elementary, Sydney Academy, the University of King’s College and finally Dalhousie University where he earned his education degree. Following graduation, David worked during his 34-year career at various schools in Sydney and in Halifax County as a teacher and an administrator.
David contributed to his community in a number of ways including volunteering as a hockey coach with Centennial Minor Hockey and as a cub scout leader. He enjoyed being an air cadet in high school and during his adult years enjoyed camping, canoeing, cruising and reading. One of his favorite pastimes was doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.
David is also remembered and dearly missed by special friend Hazel Richards-Roach and her daughters Valerie and Pam.
The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers at the Halifax Infirmary, West Bedford Transitional and the Abbie Lane Hospital.
