David "Dave" Moulton

Age 65, of Halifax. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dave on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at home. David was a son of Gertie (Cluett) and the late George Harvey Moulton. He is survived by his mother, Gertrude; loving wife of 45 years, Diane (Pelrine); son, Jason (Johanna), Burlington, Ont. and daughter, Shauna (Fernando), Halifax; aunts, uncle, cousins, many brothers and sisters-in-law that he considered brothers and sisters; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and one great-nephew that enjoyed hearing Uncle Dave's life advice! He was predeceased by his father; brother, Gerald; mother and father- in-law, Jimmy and Marie Pelrine and many aunts and uncles. For 40 years Dave was a proud and dedicated employee of PEPSICO Canada. Over his four decades of service, Dave enjoyed selling Pepsi throughout HRM and surrounding areas meeting countless acquaintances, loyal customers, colleagues and friends along the way. For the past 34 years, he enjoyed spending his summers camping at Beech Brook Campground with family and friends. He loved sitting on the deck with his dog Jasper enjoying a Keiths while he watched the hummingbirds and Jasper watched the bunnies. Dave loved woodworking, collecting classic die-cast cars, barbequing, watching NASCAR and watching the Food Network. Dave always recalled fondly his NASCAR trip with his son Jason and the Pepsi cake that daughter Shauna made for a Pepsi fundraiser. Both of his children made him an exceptionally proud father. Dave will always be remembered for his quick wit, honest advice, and being a foreman on a multitude of campground projects. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the following: Dr. Howard Conter, Lesley McGregor BScN MN NP and Inspired Program Staff, Father Nicholas Hatt, Father James Purchase, our family and friends, especially Barb for all their support and kindness during Dave's illness and passing. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held on Friday, May 24th in Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch, 50 Hillcrest St., Halifax, from 2-6 p.m. Interment on Saturday, May 25th at 11 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com Dave's favourite quote was "We're here for a good time. Not a long time" (Trooper) and he truly lived life to its fullest.

From 1965 to 1969 I was a dockyard apptentice and I was a boarder at Mrs. Cluett's. David was a young fellow at the time and lots of fun. I have very fond memories of him and Mrs Cluett and all her family. My sincerest sympathy to all Davids family.

When we first moved into the neighborhood Dave welcomed us and we shared our affection for our pets. He shared his wisdom and experiences always with humor and he will be missed on our little street in the north end.
Condolences from the Fadhil family.

Dear Diane, Jason and Shauna:
My heart was broken for you when I heard of the passing of David. Diane, you took me under your wing at work and along with you came Dave. You both were there through my good and bad times. I will always remember Dave's grin and the good times we had at the Day Nite Signs functions. May your precious memories keep Dave close in your hearts. I know he will be watching over you all.
Rest In Peace Dave!

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of David's death. Such a sweet man . It is so hard to believe. We have many fond memories of the boy's hockey years together and the friendship we shared. We will always remember David's sweet smile and the twinkle in his eyes. He will be sadly missed.
His life was short but so meaningful . We can only think that God needed another angel and he picked David.
Diane, Jason and Shauna we offer our heartfelt sympathy and may God bless you .
Jason, Scott sends his sympathy as well.

To The Family,
So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. Dave was the Pepsi rep for our store (Holt’s Take Out in Hatchet Lake) for many years. We haven’t seen Dave in a long time, since we sold our store some years back. Dave was always very friendly, pleasant and had a great personality, we always enjoyed our conversations with him.
