Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late William and Gail (Longard) Slaunwhite.
Deb was a very caring, loving person who could be quite stubborn at times, but her love and tenderness outweighed her stubbornness for sure. She could be quite devilish at times giving you a little tap on the butt and then taking off running and laughing to herself. She had a love for Starbucks coffee and enjoyed a glass of pop whenever she could. She also loved playing with decks of cards and colouring to pass the time. She was well loved and will dearly be missed by her family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her sisters, Janice Umlah (Mark) and Chrystal Smith (Peter); nieces and nephews, Les (Kelly), Jeff (Leslie), Mike, Katelyn (Patrick), Josie (Colton); as well as many great nieces and nephews; Aunt Marilyn (Robbie); several cousins; as well as her L’Arche family. She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents and step-dad, Laurie Longard.
A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the L’Arche Community in Halifax.
A special thanks to Sherry and Cathy of L’Arche for all their loving care and support to Deb and her family.
"Fly high sweetheart."
