On March 17, 2015, after a lingering illness, the death occurred peacefully at home in Sambro Head of Debra Susan Woad in her 56th years. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Cleveland and Dorothy (Bent) Kenney.
Debra received her BA from Dalhousie University and after a period with the Credit Union joined the CBC as a technician, serving in both Radio and TV. She eventually took early retirement to be home with her beloved family.
Surviving are her husband, Alan; daughters, Leigha and Allison; brothers, Frank (Pat) and Paul (Elizabeth); Aunt Gertrude.
Debra liked a good argument but at the same time brought much joy to all those around her. She loved entertaining her family and friends with a nice meal followed by the inevitable 45’s card game.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home and a graveside memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
