It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother (nanny), on February 15, 2013, after a brief illness at her home Ivany Place, in Bedford.
Del was born in Bathurst, NB to Joseph Arsenault and Lucy Withers. She is survived by her sons: Bill/Tim (Winnie), Wayne (Sheila), Edward/Ed, Cecil (Susan), and daughters: Joan (Andy) Joyce, and Linda (Daniel) Pard. Her Daughters-in law: Patsy Holt and Bride Holt, Her loving Nephew Norbert (Amy) Vinneau, her long time best friend Elsie Amirault, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence (Jack) and sons: Carl and John Leo and Daughter-in-law: Carol.
Del was the last surviving member of her family.
She spent her early years in NB and moved to Halifax where she met her husband Jack. They spent their early years operating restaurants in various Halifax locations and raising their eight children. In 1950, they moved the family to Spryfield where they ran Holt`s Grocery. While there they made many life long friends. They retired in 1970 and moved to Whites Lake on the Prospect Road. Del lived there until she took up residence at Ivany Place where she called home until her passing. Del had a friendly loving nature and was considered mom and Nan by many beyond her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
A special thank you to the executive and wonderful staff that took great care of Del at Ivany Place in Bedford.
