In the 62 years of your life, you celebrated a wide range of success. You had an impressive career in law, 27 years as a civil servant, and dedicated 14 years of volunteer service to the Canadian Red Cross. You had a positive impact on anyone you met and you were tremendously respected by all.
You will live on through a caring and supportive circle of family and friends. Brenda (nee Parsons), your wife, has always been proud to call you her husband. Your two sons, Patrick (Jessica Williams) and Nick, are going to chase their dreams and become something you will be proud of. Your sister, Barb (Sharon Lewis) says you were the best big brother and that, for the record, she would still deck Billy C for hitting you when you were kids. Your sister in-law, Wendy (Joseph Braca) loves you very much. And of course, we cannot forget to include your furbabies, Tiger, Greyson, and Baldwin.
Thank-you to all other family members, friends, and neighbours for their support during this difficult time. A special thank-you to Myra McKay, Andrea Speranza, and the caring and dedicated staff of unit 6.4 of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.
You are the kind of dad who would smile even when looking back on the moments that made you mad. You are the dad that, when your son came out to you, you smiled and said, “Nicky, I love you”. We will always love you.
Dad, go be with your loving parents, Jeremiah Holland aka “Hachoo” and Nanny Edith (nee Sibley). They are waiting for you.
A Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Join us in celebrating the life of a beautiful man.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the ALS Society, or the Alzheimer Society; three diseases that have impacted the Holland family.
Dad, pop by every now and then to give us the sit report!.
