Donnell Mary Gibbs

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donnell Gibbs, age 74, of Halifax.

Beloved mother of Christopher (Melissa) Gibbs and Deborah (Adam) Creelman; grandmother of Christian, Shelby, Peyton, Claire, and Sophie. She is survived by her sisters, Marion (Bob) Deluca and Joann (Doug) Scott and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Johnston; father, Reginald Johnston; step-father, Bill Kavanaugh; brothers, Joseph, Michael, and Harold Johnston.

Donnell enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, darts, watching golf and curling, along with having a good time with friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her co-workers at Dalhousie University where she had worked for several years.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, from 6-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 11 in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel at 10:30 am. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #142, Main Avenue, Fairview, Halifax.
