Doris Margaret Worrell

WORRELL, Doris Margaret – 85, of Halifax. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Halifax passed away June 24, 2012 peacefully at home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie Lampier. Doris was a devout member of the Fairview United Church Women’s Auxillary. She was active in volunteer work with the Women’s Auxillary and seniors program, volunteering her time baking and serving at the seniors luncheons. She also volunteered her time knitting for the Hats and Mitts program for the IWK. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Worrell, of 63 years; daughters Janet (Howard) Brown of Halifax, Karen Sears of Halifax; son David (Lori) of Halifax; grandchildren Jennifer (Tom), Robert, Matthew, and Shannon; great-grandchildren Brody, Ella and Carter. Memorial service will be held in the J.A. Snow Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, June 28th at 11a.m. with Rev. Heather Fraser officiating.
